Plot Summary
The film begins with a narration of the origin of Vaishno Devi, who was born as a result of the blessings of Saraswati, Parvati and Lakshmi. She was sent to earth as the daughter of a king named Ratnakar and his wife Samkha. She was named Trikuta by her parents and later renamed as Vaishnavi by Lord Vishnu. She grew up as a devotee of Vishnu and performed penance in the forest to attain his darshan. She also helped the people of her kingdom by curing their diseases and solving their problems.
Meanwhile, a demon named Mahishasura was terrorizing the world with his army of asuras. He had obtained a boon from Lord Brahma that he could not be killed by any man or god. He challenged Vishnu to a battle, but Vishnu told him that he would be killed by a woman. Mahishasura laughed at this and continued his atrocities. He also sent his generals to capture Vaishnavi, who he considered as a threat to his power.
Vaishnavi fought bravely against the asuras and defeated them with her divine weapons. She also received the protection of a lion named Bhairon Nath, who became her loyal companion.
